Since 1971
Tadım, which is the leading packaged-nut brand in Turkey, was established by Mehmet Tekinalp in Istanbul in 1971.
Tekinalp Family of Gaziantep has been working with Pistachio trade since 1940s and today, the third generation of the family continues to contribute to the introduction of Pistachio nuts. Mr. Mehmet’s father, who was called as “The Arab Nut-Seller”, was one of the first people who introduced Pistachio to people of Istanbul, and extending his exports, he opened up to the U.S. markets in 1950s.
The Tekinalp Family, including Mr. Mehmet’s father, decided to extend their business of trading nuts just after they started to work in the office located in Tahtakale, Istanbul in 1960s.
Mehmet Tekinalp stepped into packaged-nut sector by establishing Tadım in 1971 with a view to package and sell nuts other than Pistachio.
Vision of Tadım also became clear in that period: “By packaging nuts, providing the customer with the best quality goods in its freshest form with the most reasonable price.”
With the aim of both providing the necessary hygienic conditions for health, and lengthening the shelf-life of nut-products, which tend to get stale very quickly, so as to benefit the consumer as well, Mehmet Tekinalp, with this vision, built the Tadım brand on strong foundations.
“Tadım (My Taste)”, as it reminds savour, was agreed upon as the brand name, and in order to introduce this name to the consumer effectively, the logo of Tadım was designed by the excellent work of the great graphic-designer Mengü Ertel.
Tadım has nut, dried fruit and Tadımca production facilities in Tuzla, Istanbul. For 40 years, it has kept its pioneering and leading position in the sector. It processes and packs the first quality unprocessed goods bought directly from the producer, processes them in a production line with state-of-art technology machinery without any human touch and delivers it to the consumer in its freshest state.
